The original plan for today was to go on a hike to see the mountains because the weather forecast said it should be clear. But since it was still pretty cloudy this morning, we decided to get some work done in the shop and just keep our eyes out in case it cleared up. Today, we took the final step of assembling the prone trolley now that it has been fully painted. Since all went well with that, all that's left for that project is to update the manufacturing manual with all the design changes we ran into. The wheelchair project is nearing the end but there's still a good bit of work to be done. In addition to our manufacturing manual updates, we also need to weld the footrest, paint the wheelchair, and assemble it all. I worked on updating the Solidworks drawings, Cai painted the first coat of red onto the wheelchair, and Travis welded the footrests. Thomas stepped in to help with grinding down the welds every once in a while since Blake was working on updating their manufacturing manual. After lunch, we got back to work in the shop. Travis finished welding the footrests and axial plates and then grinded them down. Blake and Thomas put the finishing touches on the Prone Trolley and then took it for a spin around the hospital. The tires were leaking and some of the interlocking parts needed filed down now that everything had been painted. But after those few adjustments, we were able to say that the Prone Trolley was complete! By the end of the day, we also had gotten a lot of work done on the wheelchair. Travis finished welding and grinding the footrests so we got a coat of primer as well as the first layer of red paint on them. We wrapped up the second coat of paint on the wheelchair so prettymuch all we have left to do is update the manufacturing manual, put a second coat on the footrests, and assemble it once everything is dry! We headed out to town for dinner tonight and stopped in at a Café called the Straw that had really good smoothies. There was a TV near our table playing Nepali music videos and it was fun to watch and try and figure out what was going on. After dinner, Cai, Travis, Thomas and I all played a couple card games including a game of spoons that had us diving across the room. When we all got tires of Cai winning every game, we decided to call it a night.
