After breakfast with mangos again this morning, we went to the shop to work on documentation and tweak a few things on the wheelchair. We ate lunch with Megan, the Occupational Therapist we've been coordinating with for the duration of this project. She took the wheelchair to the woman that was going to be using it now and she said that it was "sajelo," meaning easy or pleasant. She really liked the footrests in particular! The one note she made was that the armrests could be more comfortable. Currently, they're just metal square tubing. So in the afternoon, Travis, Rewanta, and Van Dyke worked on adding foam on top of those. After wrapping up documentation and modifications for the day, Cai, Van Dyke and I went to the notorious Nut and Bolt house one last time to get yet another piece of hardware we didn't think we'd need. Then we met the others at the Alpine Trekking store to meet Sujan, a Nepali that the people from last year's trip kept in contact with and told us to visit while we were here. He recommended a certain place for dinner so we made plans to meet there before splitting up to roam around Lakeside. Blake got scammed on an embroidered Bart Simpson shirt that was nearly half the price at a store down the street. Cai and I were on the search for Nepali pants. We found a few that we really liked at the first store we looked at but went all the way down the street comparing prices. The best deal ended up being that first store but we took last year's team's advice of "never buy the first jacket." After some shopping and only semi-successful bartering, we grabbed dinner at the place that Sujan recommended. We tried some Tubetan bread with honey that tasted like Auntie Anne's cinnamon sugar pretzles! Then we took taxis back to the hospital and cooled off from the hot day with cold showers. Thomas, Cai and I played card games in my room for a bit tonight but didn't last as long as last time because the heat today had us pretty tired out.
