We got up bright and early again for our last good Kathmandu street tea before flying out to Pokhara at 11. We took a van to the airport and checked our bags around 9:50 - no major ticket mishaps this time. Van Dyke was able to switch us to the 9:50 flight which ended up being delayed so we still didn't take off until close to 11 anyways. We boarded the plane and Travis got moved to the front where he had more leg room! We landed in the new Pokhara Airport and took three taxis back to hospital where we would he working and staying. The main medical facilities were at the entrance to the place and then there were many living spaces farther back in a section they called Beth Eden. Then after lunch at the hospital, we went to a brief welcome meeting with some of the Hospital staff at 2:00. Afterwards, we headed back out to the shop on site to check what material we had before going to the steel yard. Blake, Travis, Van Dyke, and I all went out to order our parts from the steel yard while Cai, Thomas, and Giraldo stayed back to organize and set up our work areas in the shop. The Nepali steel yard was very different from any American one we had ever seen. We showed them our list of sizes and they marked it up and searched around for we needed. In classic Nepali fashion, they served us tea while we waited for them to finalize our order. Once that was all set to be delivered back to the hospital, we crammed in the taxi once more and headed back for dinner, devotions, and bed.

Total count:

60 tea
