This morning we got up and had our usual breakfast at the hospital before heading back to the shop to continue working. Today Travis and I figured out how to modify our miter saw to cut the angles we needed for the wheelchair frame. We got most of those pieces cut, de-rusted, grinded down, and ready to be welded! We only have a few more angle cuts to make and we will be able to weld a large portion of our wheelchair frame once the prone trolley is complete. Today we finally got the correct round tubing size but when we went to cut the push rims, we realized that we had errors in the measurements in our manufacturing manual. With a few additional calculations, we figured out the correct sizes but it meant that we would need more material. Hopefully it's not as difficult to get the right size this time as it was originally! Van Dyke was out shopping again today and he stopped by the Nuts and Bolts House. There's one lady that runs it and it's just a small store with boxes upon boxes of nuts and bolts lining the walls. She knows her stock well and, of you show her a list of parts, she'll know exactly where they are in her store. Van Dyke stopped by there for our hardware and the lady remembered him from when he came last year. Lunch and dinner were both at the hospital today and then Cai and I went to a shop up the street to get dessert to finish out the day.
